Podewil
1991 – 1996
In 1991, professionals were invited to an international video market at the DDR Academy of Arts – 200 meters away from Podewil. The innovative video market continued until the VideoFest '96.
From 1992, the Videomarkt moved to Podewil. The market invited international institutions and distributers to exchange their films and video artworks during the festival. We can find the participants of the editions of 1992 and 1993. Although cryptic in the catalogue, VideoFest '94 also counted with the market. In 1995, the market focus on bringing specialist hardwarde and software for all visitors – indicating the opening of the festival towards other mediums. The 9. VideoFest in 1996 brought the last VideoMarket of the festival.
