Streaming Life focuses on online video and streaming cultures and how they have changed over time. The program features two video-based lectures, a short film program and the feature-length documentary Present.Perfect. by Shengze Zhu. The downsides of mobile communication and social media are contrasted by the democratizing potential of vernacular video making and the artistic appropriation of network logics and infrastructures. The film & video program of transmediale 2020 also includes a looped short film program, Geographies of Relation, as part of the exhibition, the short film program Self Share and the German premiere of Lawrence Lek's AIDOL 爱道, both at Volksbühne.
