Closing the for refusal festival edition, Byung Chul Han’s lecture explores the role of idlessness and inaction as a deliberate, political act of refusal. In his lecture Han argues that human existence today is totally consumed under capitalist logic of activity, and that even ideas of leisure or inactivity are still connected to work. Rejecting these logics, Han explores the political and social significance of idleness, and its disconnection from labour as a liberatory act from the obligations of production, activity, and work.
The lecture will be held in German with live English translation.
