The Gigantic Jelly-Blob is part of a larger investigation into the creation, validation, and dissemination of art in the immaterial economy. The uncontrollable, diffuse monsters of financialization and precarity invade not only our work ethics but also the most personal corners of our lives. What is the role of the artist in a financialized (art) world? The viewer is invited to participate in a lecture-performance with Karga in which they will shape an immaterial sculpture, creating thus a space for communication, togetherness, and embodiment of ideas. Using fiction and metaphors, we will be looking across a capitalist horizon and share our findings, reflections, and ideas. No particular knowledge or skills are required. The event includes a sound intervention by Dimitris Papadatos.

The Gigantic Jelly-Blob erkundet die Schaffung, Validierung und Verbreitung von Kunst in der immateriellen Ökonomie. Die unkontrollierbaren, diffusen Monstrositäten von Finanzmarkt-Kapitalismus und Prekarität beeinflussen nicht nur unsere Arbeitsethik, sondern dringen auch in die intimsten Ecken unseres Lebens vor. Welche Rolle nehmen Künstler_innen in einer finanzialisierten (Kunst-)Welt ein? In dieser performativen Lecture formen die Zuschauer_innen formen gemeinsam mit Valentina Karga eine immaterielle Skulptur und schaffen so einen Raum für Kommunikation, Gemeinschaft und die Verkörperung von Ideen. Mithilfe von Fiktion und Metaphern soll über den kapitalistischen Horizont hinaus geschaut und eine Vielzahl von Erkenntnissen, Überlegungen und Ideen geteilt werden. Es werden keine besonderen Fähigkeiten oder Fachwissen vorausgesetzt. Teil des Events ist eine Sound-Intervention von Dimitris Papadatos.
