More than just 'collective intelligence' and our brain skills, digital economy is absorbing today the whole of our social relations and monetizing the very physical desire of communication. Moreover the crisis of so-called cognitive capitalism within the intellectual property regime as well as educational institutions across Europe is revealing new forms of exploitation and new social tensions. After discussing the paradigms of knowledge economy and immaterial labour, political debate is facing today a ‘biopolitical turn’ in order to frame the new vectors of economic production.

In this keynote conversation the philosophers Franco ‘Bifo’ Berardi and Maurizio Lazzarato, investigate the new dimension of bioeconomy, that is the economy of life in the realm of digital networks.

Die gegenwärtige digitale Ökonomie zielt nicht mehr nur auf die „kollektive Intelligenz“ und unsere kognitiven Fähgkeiten. Sie absorbiert die Gesamtheit unserer sozialen Beziehungen und vermarktet unser elementares körperliches Begehren nach Kommunikation. Mehr noch enthüllt die Krise des sogenannten „kognitiven Kapitalismus“ des Urheberrechts-Regimes ebenso wie in den Bildungseinrichtungen in ganz Europa, neue Formen der Ausbeutung und soziale Spannungen. Nachdem das Paradigma der Wissensökonomie und der immateriellen Arbeit diskutiert wurde, sieht sich der politische Diskurs heute mit einem „biopolitical turn“ konfrontiert, um die neuen Vektoren der Wirtschaftsproduktion zu erfassen.

In diesem Keynote-Gespräch werden die Philosophen Franco 'Bifo' Berardi und Maurizio Lazzarato die neuen Dimensionen der Bio-Ökonomie, also die Ökonomie des Lebens, im Kontext der digitalen Netzwerke untersuchen.
