Dorine van Meel completed her MFA in Fine Art at Goldsmiths College in 2014 and works between Berlin, Amsterdam, and London. In 2014 she became the fourth recipient of the Nina Stewart Artist Residency at the South London Gallery. Her practice is situated within the media of moving image, writing, and installation. Selected solo exhibitions include: âDisobedient Childrenâ at Kunstraum in London (2015), âBetween the Dog and the Wolfâ at the South London Gallery (2015) and âinstead to meet strangers who might change our mindsâ at the Swiss Church in London (2014). Her interest in discursive practices, feminist methodologies, and self-organised forms of collaborations is reflected within the projects she initiates. These include âGentle Dustâ at Jupiter Woods in London and at ROOM Gallery in Johannesburg (2016), âThe Southern Summer Schoolâ at BAK in Utrecht (2017), âLuminous Fluxâ at Arti et Amicitiae in Amsterdam (2014) and âDoes Not Equalâ at W139 in Amsterdam (2015).
