Assem Hendawi (1989, Egypt) is an artist and researcher working across moving image, digital media, and speculative methodologies. He received an MA from the Dutch Art Institute (DAI). His practice examines how technology, infrastructure, and power shape perception and futurity, exploring the entanglement of images, governance, and myth in constructing realities. He works with time-based media, simulations, and algorithmic aesthetics, engaging with the tension between documentation and distortion, control and speculation. He is the co-founder of SIMIYYA, a platform for artistic research and speculative aesthetics. He lives and works in Egypt.
