The annual Research Workshop was initiated in 2012 as a collaboration between Digital Aesthetics Research Center (Aarhus University), transmediale festival, and shifting institutional partners – this year, École de recherche graphique, Brussels.

This year's workshop Rendering Research investigates how the rendering of research typically reinforces certain limitations of thought and action, and more specifically to what extent it is possible to exert control over ways of making things public. Participants will present initial reflections based on their ongoing research.

To engage the audience in 'the rendering of research’, it will be possible to take part in collective note-taking on the theme and the presentations via an online collaborative writing pad . This will serve as an addition to the transmediale Telegram group chat, and will allow for more extensive thoughts, comments and ideas from the audience.

The workshop presentation will take place as a livestreamed online event. Q&A and discussion with the participants will be possible through the transmediale Telegram group.
