Over the last five years the media art center LABoral in Spain has developed an extensive learning network that brings artists, schools, and young people together to create new media content and tools. Interested in sharing their findings, the group proposed partnering with a Berlin-based team. To facilitate this link, Professor Jussi Ängeslevä and members of the Rethinking Prototype team from the University of the Arts and the Technical University in Berlin were invited to join the conversation. Rethinking Prototyping was a resulting three-year project exploring prototyping as a method for supporting interdisciplinary collaboration. Within the transmediale workshop both teams will share their work, presenting outcomes, successes, and failures. Participant activities will focus on evaluation models, with emphasis placed on prototyping and maker practices as a means for learning and collaboration.

In den vergangenen fünf Jahren hat das Medienkunstzentrum LABoral in Spanien ein großes Lernnetzwerk entwickelt, das Künstler_innen, Schulen und junge Menschen zusammenbringt, um neue Medieninhalte und Tools zu gestalten. Gemeinsam mit einem Team aus Berlin möchte die Gruppe ihre Erkenntnisse weitergeben. Um den Austausch zu unterstützen, wurden Professor Jussi Ängeslevä und Mitglieder des Rethinking Prototyping-Teams der Universität der Künste und der Technischen Universität Berlin zum Gespräch eingeladen. In dem dreijährigen Projekt Rethinking Prototyping wurde Prototyping als Methode interdisziplinärer Zusammenarbeit erforscht. Im Rahmen des transmediale-Workshops stellen beide Teams ihre Projekte, Ergebnisse, Erfolge und Misserfolge vor. Die Teilnehmer_innen setzen sich mit Evaluationsmodellen und insbesondere mit Prototyping und Maker-Praktiken als Mittel zum Lernen und zur Zusammenarbeit auseinander.
