nènè myriam konaté (they/them) is a queer sweet-blooded child of Ayiti and Mali’s diasporas living, dreaming and scheming in Tiohtià:ke/Mooniyang/Montreal.
nènè is a full-time witness who creates spaces for personal excavation and collective experimentation. These spaces include the Clap Back: a space to collectively process pop culture phenomena, Manifest(o): a 9-week journey in service of fugitive practice(s), and Somatic Semantics: wor(l)ds structured by our limitations and the possibilities they are infused with.
nènè’s writing has appeared in Les Corps du Texte and Urgency Reader. They have led workshops, developed curatorial projects and created text-based works for PHI Centre, the University of Puerto Rico Rio Piedras, Articule Artist Run Centre, Never Apart and AKA Artist Run Centre. They have also completed residencies at Ada X, Artexte and SBC Gallery of Contemporary Art.
Through dialogue-based interventions, nènè roots us in honesty to shatter illusions of harmony and hold space for divergence.
