[closed] Structures of Haunting with Winchester School of Art
Single tickets only

In this half day workshop, we will reflect on ways in which the present is haunted by past(s) and futures. What are the structures and infrastructures that scaffold this haunting, and bring it close both temporally and spatially?

To explore this question, a group of artists and researchers hosted by Winchester School of Art will engage in a series of divination and séance attempts in the Betonhalle, seeing these as practices of enactment in the present, rather than of predicting 'the future’ or uncovering ’the past'. We will explore human frameworks and infrastructures for metaphysical communication, as well as more-than-human modes of touching across distances.

With contributions from Chera Kee, Francis Gene Rowe, Alejandro Limpo Gonzalez, Lily McCraith, Yadira Sánchez, Yaqian Lai, and Georgia Perkins.

This event is coordinated by the Critical Infrastructures and Image Politics research group at Winchester School of Art, University of Southampton.

The workshops takes place on 29 Jan, 14:00 – 18:00.

This event is part of a cooperation between transmediale and the Critical Infrastructures and Image Politics research group (CIIP), supported by the Winchester School of Arts, University of Southampton.
